Event Name:Bike Night BIKE SHOW presented by Thunder Roads Ohio
Event Location: VFW Post 1079
Event Address: 500 Abbe Rd. S. Elyria
Event Description: VFW Post 1079 kicked off weekly BIKE NIGHTS this past summer and they’ve quickly become one of the Westside’s BEST Bike Nights! Featuring vendors, entertainment, and DJ Ed – formerly of Quaker Steak & Lube – hosting games and giveaways – it’s always a great time in a comfortable setting. Please note that ALL ARE WELCOME and invited out to the Post on this evening. VFW Post 1079 has teamed up with Thunder Roads Ohio to host a bike night BIKE SHOW – that’s an official qualifier for the feature shows that are coming up. There are trophies, placards, and plenty of give-away’s for bike show entires – and even drawings for those voting. Bike Show registration is $20 day of the show, however you can register in advance for only $15 and receive a FREE Bike Show Shirt – compliments of! The 2022 TRO CHAMPIONSHIP BIKE SHOW SERIES As motorcyclists, bikers, or whatever you want to call yourselves – our bikes are often our pride and joy. In many cases, We spend hours after hours, and often dollars after dollars making them our own personal ride. With all that time and effort, why not bring them out and showcase what you’ve done? To that end, we present the Thunder Roads Ohio Bike Show Series. The TRO Bike Show Series features local, regional, and nationally recognized shows that all builders and bike owners are encouraged to participate in. Vintage, metric, v-twin, customs, restored antiques, “resto-mods”, trikes, and radicals – they are all welcome to the show. Each bike show is also a qualifier for our Championship Shows – both the State Show and the National
Championship Show which has been held as part of the I-X Piston Power Show and Ohio Bike Week the last several years.
The vast majority of these shows are RIDE-IN shows, meaning that the bikes are expected to be ridden and a little bit of road dust is fine. We don’t split hairs over trailering in bikes, but we do require that all bikes must be functioning. They must start and be able to be safely ridden on the road. Most of the shows include voting by event attendees and weighted judges scores. We use this approach to make certain we include the “people’s choice” as well as a professional eye – preventing it just being a popularity contest. For most shows we include a BEST OF SHOW AWARD – awarded to the top scoring bike in the show – and then a PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD – awarded to the top scoring bike, without factoring in Judge’s Scores. Some shows, though, are Judged Shows – with the guest votes simply going towards the People’s Choice Awards. All Thunder Roads Shows feature trophies and placards to recognize the bikes and winners, with special prizes being added in some shows in consideration of the location and hosts. The Best of Show Bikes and TOP Class Winners from the Bike Show Series are then invited to take part in the Championship Shows. NEW Vintage Classes!
In response to the overwhelming VINTAGE interest in vintage bikes and a wider range of classic bikes showing up at our shows – we will be adding VINTAGE RACING and TOURING classes as options for exhibitors taking part in the BIKE SHOW SERIES. As always, we will require at least 3 bikes in these classes to qualify for a BEST-IN-CLASS AWARD – otherwise the bikes will be pooled with other Vintage bikes. Our hope is that we can encourage more Exhibitors to bring out and show their bikes in these classes with us offering new, distinct classes. For more information and to register, visit SPECIALTY CLASSES
All shows this year include SPECIALTY CLASSES for bikes to be considered under. You can enter your bike in just these classes – or you can add it as a second classification. There is a discounted fee for adding additional classes for the same bike. You CANNOT add multiple Primary / Standard Classes for the same bike, however – you can do a Specialty Class in addition to the Primary Bike Show Classes.
Specialty Classes Include:
CUSTOM PAINT (Specialty Class)
ALL BEST OF SHOW Winners qualify for the Championship Show. Best of Class Winners are entered for consideration, with top series performers being selected for the Championship.
Exhibitors that register in advance will receive a FREE t-shirt as a new special incentive for Pre-Registration. The shirts will be otherwise available at the time of registration for a discounted rate of $15 for Exhibitors. Otherwise, a limited number will be available for $20 each.
